Sunday Love

Hey friends,

I hope you've had a great week and are finding some time to relax and restore this weekend. I so enjoyed writing and creating Mom's School this summer, I've decided to write to you weekly on Sundays. This series is called Sunday Love. Every Sunday I'll be sending some love to your inbox. It may be a blog post about a topic I think you will find meaningful, a review or recommendation on a book I've read, or just some inspiration for your week. I hope to bring some guests into the blog, other women who inspire me and have important messages to share. I'll also occasionally have some special surprises just for you. I have a few things in mind:-)

I'm learning that we all evolve and grow, and that we are not just one part of our story, but rather the totality of it. A few people commented they were surprised by my Mom's School series. They thought it was a departure from what I typically write about, or have written about. My reply is that I am growing and stepping into my bigger story that includes the many facets of who I am. I'll be sharing more about that in the coming weeks. I believe we are all many, beautiful parts and that it's so important to embrace and cultivate them all.

This week I want to share a video I created. We Are The Heart Strong was an idea that came to me earlier this year. I've learned so much about the human spirit by running the Ethan Lindberg Foundation, leading the mom's retreats and stepping into the rare disease community with Bodey. I'm privileged to know so many incredible people who are embracing a life they didn't plan for with tears and open arms. So I wanted to define what it means to be Heart Strong. Those words appear on the shirts in my Four Hearts Shop, but they are more than just words for the heart community. The are words for us all.

I hope you feel as inspired as I do when you watch this video. Yes, that's my Bodey walking in his gait trainer with his cute glasses. I'm so proud to be his mom!

This film is full of real life people to have battled illness, despair and struggle. Yet they choose to  live in joy and hope. Each one is courageous and inspiring.

My dear friend Lexi and I wrote the script. These words describe all of us who embrace our life and learn to accept it as it is, all the facets and all the seasons.

"We are the weak and the strong, the lover and the fighter, the calm and the hurricane.

We are the ones who know life isn’t always kind, but it’s undeniably good.

Our roots run deeper, our stories are richer, our paths more beaten and free than ever before.

We’ve been awakened by both joy and pain.

We are different, yet united, hand in hand.

We are more powerful than we ever imagined, than even we can understand or see.

We are the ones that life could not defeat or tame.

We are the heart strong."

You too are Heart Strong. Don't forget that. When life happens, as it will, I hope you will dig deep and find the richness in your story.

Sunday Love to you,

Jessica
